The Ulster Cup run for 2012 came to an end yesterday (Sunday) as the Mahee team were defeated by a strong Strabane team.
The Holt Shield team under the captaincy of Robert Wright saved their best for the last. They defeated runaway group leaders Shandon Park 3-2 at Mahee. Mahee finished in a very creditable position in the group which also included Scrabo and Bangor. Keith Haslett, Darryl Moore and Simon Halliday were the winners on the night.
The Pierce Purcell team continued their excellent success in the competition so far by defeating Silverwood at Spa and will now play either Fortwilliam or Ardglass in the next round.
The Irish Mixed Foursomes await the name of their next opponents as they try and progress to the next round.
