Congratulations to the Irish Mixed Foursomes team who progressed to the last 16 of the Ulster section by beating Kirkistown Castle 41/2 – ½ at Downpatrick.  They await an open draw when all 1^st round matchplay results are entered.

Congratulations also to the Ulster Fourball Team who won two matches away at Bright Castle to give them a 6 – 4 aggregate victory.  They now meet the winners of Ballyclare and Mount Ober in the 4^th round.

The Ulster CupTeam plays Strabane in the 3^rd round.  The away match is at Strabane on Friday 22^nd and then they are at home on Sunday the 24^th.

The Holt ShieldTeam’s final match of the group stage is at home to Shandon Park, also on Sunday 24^th June.  They are currently in 2^nd place in the group.

Paul Coey and Gareth McKibbin will meet a pair at Shandon on Tuesday at 5.30pm in the last 16 of the Irish Mail Foursomes.

Unfortunately Mahee bowed out of the Barton Shield Scratch Foursomes on Wednesday night at Rockmount, but not before giving Carnalea a fright.

The first pairing of Philip Davidson and Junior Stewart despite going 3 down when Carnalea hit them with four 3's in a row battled back to be level at the 18th. Whilst Shane Andrews and Keith Haslett came back from four down before being closed out at the 17th.

Despite the result one of the positives was the number of younger and Category 1 members now coming through to represent Mahee in these Senior inter-club competitions. It is hoped that this will continue to grow over the next few years.
