I hope that you all enjoyed Captain’s Day, I know that I certainly did. Thank you all for your support. Congratulations to all the prize-winners, especially Darryl Moore who won the Captain’s Prize with 42 points. (See Results section for details.) It is a pity that none of you won the car for a hole-in-one at the 17th. The whole weekend has been memorable. The weather dried up, the course was magnificent, the catering superb, the evening entertainment excellent and the camaraderie top class. The 15 visiting Captains and Vice-Captains from our neighbouring clubs in North down were impressed by all that they experienced. Thanks to all who contributed to the day.
To crown it all the Irish Mixed Foursomes team got up early on Sunday morning and qualified in 2nd place at Downpatrick. They play Kirkistown Castle in the first knockout round before 2nd July, date to be confirmed. On Sunday evening, after the Captain’s guests enjoyed a glorious afternoon’s golf, the Ulster Fourball team defeated Bright Castle 4-1. Congratulations to the team Captains, players and supporters. Keep up the good work!
